    Not a summit, summit

I'm taking a Summit I picked up for $100, and am going to chop it up by narrowing the wheel track and lengthening the wheelbase. It is apart right now, so can someone PLEASE give me an outside hex to hex dimension with the suspension arms flat to the world? (Widest point in the track width with the tires off.)

Lol, nice mac. Looking forward to seeing how this one will turn out.

Sorry, I don't have a Summit, so no measurements from me.

Just in case you dont know. You can narrow the wheel base by using slayer arms. They narrow the wheel base by about 3 -4 inches.

    Search for summit LT conversion.

But if you wanna cut up the chassis and make your own route I totallly understand. I myself love the smell of hot plastic being sliced up by a sharp dremel.

Hex to hex dimensions are needed to finish off the cab. The truck will be 2-1/2" narrower than stock when it's done, at the hexes, and it will no longer have the prop rod/rocker suspension. The wheelbase will be about 2" longer.

Wheelbase or wheel track? If I dont have to make metal arms to make her skinny, I am a happy camper. Do these work for both uppers and lowers, using the OEM bearing carriers? I will definitely have to do a little research on that.

There will be enough drilling and cutting soon enough. Once the cab is built I have to figure out how to mount it. I just hope the way I see this in my head turns into reality. Yes, the community here is great for sure!

I actually don't have one...... maybe I'll see about getting one tonight when I get home. If I have any energy after riding that is.

Nix, how wide to the outside of the tires? No progress on this one, Sam. I've got 4 builds going on at once, the Bomber will make me $$$ so that one is getting my attention right now. Soon enough though.

Kick Butt rear link suspension. What axle are you using? I had thought about doing something similar but was gonna try to keep the summit stock axle, disconnect the diff from the chassis and keep the entire axle straight as opposed to its natural v shape

All I can say its a very common axle. I really want to get a metal center pumpkin axle, but don't feel like dumping $120 for it.
