Ill be trying some Proline Badlands MX38 3.8" tires. im a fan of the knobby motor cross inspired thread/lug pattern.
the youtube videos i have watched on the trenchers seem that they are a good mix for bashing and some trail style not so much rock climbing. depends really on what you are doing with your summit

I bought the 40 series. they are taller and thinner. I bought them mounted with the wheels. I have multiple summits so i run the Trenchers on my summit for trailing. The thinner tires do make it easier to maneuver in tight trails. They work well in dirt and OK in sand, My stock Canyons are way better for crawling. I use the Mud Slingers for bashing and sand. Hope this helps.

X on the left are on an E-Revo, but won't look different on a Summit.
I trail and free-run through woodland, so the extra height and narrower width of the 40-series on Tech5 wheels are a great benefit.
The correct type of tires depends on use and terrain.

The trenchers are very wide and look more like the canyon AT.

Have both tires now and I can say you are right, the x is too wide and don't like it, the 40 series is perfect for me which is tall and narrow.

The X's are a fine choice for Revos.
