    All american xmaxx raptor

    Hey xmaxxers,

This is my first Proline Raptor body for the xmaxx. The bodies are nice to work with and have some great lines. Colors used were Tamiya metallic blue, metallic red, white, and black. The stars were hand cut from 3m painters tape and applied to the hood. The rest of the body was covered with liquid mask. The flames were drawn by hand and then cut out with a x-acto knife. The front clip and flames were painted metallic blue. The front clip was then backed with black to deepen the blue. Next color was the white section. The white was also used to back the flames to create a nice fade for lighter flame tips. Metallic red was the third section and then everything was backed in black. I will add some more Proline decals before I submit it for the monthly contest. I hope to have a set of their new xmaxx wheels and tires to add to the Proline look. Having a ton of fun with the xmaxx bodies and have another PL Raptor body that needs a cool theme...throw out some ideas!

    Looks nice!
What paint you used for the silver parts and did you use any primer paint? Did you scotch-brite the rim before painting? (I have painted few rims and paint always seems to flake off after some usage)

I used bright silver taymiya ps-41 polycarbonate base coat no primer followed by automotive acrylic clear 4 coats. Rings are taymiya metallic blue polycarbonate. We will see how they hold up. I have no expectations.

    Good effort - looks great!!

Now we need Proline to produce 'scale' MT wheels / tyres, but I suppose that's covered by using the MTXL ones.
These Proline belted beadlocks look REALLY nice.

It would be nice to have more tire options from proline. I pulled these apart painted and re assembled and am very impressed with the engineering. Fit and tolerances are astounding.

Wow! A+++ work Jay! That's awesome! Your attention to detail with the stars, flames, paint schemes and decal placement is phenomenal.

Thank you my brother. I still need a new theme for another Raptor body sitting here...
