Nitro 4 tec pro 15 problems

i bought a pro 15 nitro 4 tec from a friend that didn't work and finally got it started and running but the only problem is left is the car doesn't move I will mash accelerator and moves maybe 3 inches it will not go i can't drive, only "revs". Does anyone know what the problem is?

Clutch and/or slipper clutch. If those are good then it is further down the drive train. The difference between nitro and electrics is generally the power plant. Troubleshooting the rest of the drive train is the same.

I messed around with the clutch and slipper and drives now but I don't know what I did to get it to work, it's got like lag time and if I hold throttle same speed it takes about 5 seconds to get to the actually speed it should be at and when I let off throttle it stops quick. It looks like maybe some type of brake is on when I drive.
