First First was a Nikko Turbo Panther. First hobby grade was a Kyosho Optima Mid, Followed by a Kyosho Hi Roller Corvette ( a re-bodied version of the Big Brute ) We must have come into the hobby around the same era.
My dad was a bit of a Kyosho loyalist until we got into carpet racing, and then it was Associated cars.

    what was your first rc?

Tamiya Wild Willy. The first one, in the 80's. Followed years later by a Tamiya Bush Devil. Grew up in Germany and could only drool over Traxxas trucks in magazines. Picked up the hobby again about 3 years ago. Now I'm a die hard Traxxas fanboy enjoy running 'em hard at the local track here in the GA. heat...

I had tons of RC cars when I was a kid, but they were toy grade. My first hobby grade RC was the original Tamiya Hornet back in the late 80's.

I just got a brushless system for my RC10T3 to try out. It is much better than my old Ni-cads and my brushed 12 double.

    Oh man...

Tacon Soar Brushless. Had it for 3 years, NiMH batteries still worked (amazingly), then totaled it into a car tire. Haven't used it ever since.

I took the ESC and the motor out and put it into my 2nd rc car, a MERV brushed, and it does double backflips off of tall pine trees now.

My third one is a Rustler VXL, and I've only broken 3 parts - steering block, driveshaft, and stripped spur gear.

My fourth, well, I don't have it (yet, hopefully), but it will be an 8S X-Maxx.

Radio Shack Golden Arrow. Got it for Christmas from my big brothers when I was 11 or 12. Fried the electronics when running the first pack.

I'm now 41. Was 18 years or so ago when I got my first hobby grade RC, Losi XXX-NT, 2wd stadium truck. My second was a couple years later, traxxas t-maxx 2.5.

There is an older gen Nitro Rustler in my local classified, never owned a nitro in nearly 30 years on and off in the hobby, but I know I had fun with my rustler VXL
