    Axle Carriers

    Hi all,
I just bought a 1/16 e revo vxl off someone for very cheap the other day. The truck is said to be less than a year old but the axle carriers are shot. I have been looking around and saw stock replacement, atomik rc carriers, rpm, integy, and few other brands out there. What does everyone recommend for replacing these? And are there any other things I should replace right off the bat? I know I will have to shim the diff beforeI go with the 3s lipo. Thanks in advance

I use GPM in my 1/16 cars. They never let me down.

I just use stock. There are aluminum threaded inserts you can get to tighten up the stock carriers.

Like dacaur said. You need the optional aluminum threaded inserts. https://traxxas.com/products/parts/7033X. Do not over tighten!! I'm sure RPM work well if you choose.

So can I just replace the caps and thread those onto the original axle carriers? Or do I need new axle carriers as well?

You don't need new carriers to use those. Just don't over tighten them and strip your carriers.
If you do, then you need new ones!

If you want aluminum, I have the ones by Hot Racing and cannot complain.

I got the GPM alu ones before the alu Traxxas inserts came out. I have seen RPM knuckles that suffered from popouts. Pricewise stockers with alu inserts are a nice choice.

I would only trust the Aluminum GPM to this

the RPM are worse than stock, and yes, I have personal experience with GPM, RPM, and stock

My gpm carriers have never done me wrong. I also use alloy inserts with them. Dab of blue lock tight keeps them snug.

And here is a comparison of the stock to the gpm carrier.
