    Question Battery Charging

I am not new to the hobby but am new to lipos and brushless systems. There has been one thing that I am stuck on Here's an example: A 5000mah battery is storage charged Can you charge it at 5 amps but lower mah or not

    Any help is appreciated Thanks!

Depends on the battery, but usually, a 5000mah battery can be charged at 1C (5 amps). Some companies make them so you can charge at 2C or more as well.

Okay thanks so what your saying is that if i'm only charging it up from a storage charge even though the mah is lower the amps can be up to 5 or is that not correct

You can charge it at 1C (or 5A) no matter what, charging from LVD, or storage, it doesn't matter.

Heres 2 lipo threads that are great reads.

Lipos can not be trickle charged. As to what trickle charging actually is ive never got a straight answer on.

Balance charging at 1c or 1x the mah rating is always best.
    Ex. 5000mah-5a, 6500mah-6.5a, 3300mah-3.3a, etc.

Charging at 2c or 2x the mah or higher, is allowed by some manufacturers as mentioned but will shorten overall lifespan of batt. As to how much or if its even enough to worry about Ive never got a straight answer on either. This would be used in race applications where a quicker turn around time is desired. So 2c or 2x charging would be as followed: 2000mah-4a, 3300mah-6.6a, 6500mah-13a, etc. Hope that helps.

Most common chargers that ive seen top out around 10a. Trx EZ peak is 8a max charger.
