    How to identify shocks?

So me and my son both popped a shock today at the skate park. I also did one 2 days ago on its last outing. So, how do I know what the stock shocks are on our Bigfoots? I'm keen to buy the right upgrade caps before rebuilding them all again.

If it has stock shocks in them still they are "Ultra Shocks".

In the parts list you will see the optional(aluminum) shock caps part numbers along with the rebuild kit part numbers and optional but recommended titanium shaft part numbers.

STRC makes nice caps too along with along with aluminum shock bodies.

You have the ultra shocks. Traxxas and STRC have aluminum caps that will stay on and not pop off. They come in colors to match your theme also, red, blue.green, and gunmetal

Plastic shock bodies and plastic caps=guarantee cap pop off especially at skate park, but it can happen at other places. With aluminum caps they won't flex like the plastic ones. Titanium shock shafts will be a good choice like SilentRunner suggested. From what I read and heard, the rear shock shafts usually bend more than the front and I seen this before on my three little 2nd cousin trucks and my other Traxxas 2wd r/cs. We never drove our r/cs at a skate park, but one of three is pretty rough with his P2de. Strangely he never popped a cap yet.
    Did you say Traxxas?

    Yes with or without lipos.

I'll be buying a set of caster blocks and shock caps tomorrow along maybe replacement king pins to make it all fresh. The trucks were taking a beating this morning with some landings from around 10-12' so it's hardly surprising we popped the caps. Seems that once they get a weakness it's just going to keep happening as it was the same shock on mine each time.

At least my ESC is well lubricated lol...
