Is Kershaw Designs going out of business??

Like the title says, does anyone know if Kershaw Designs is going out of business? Someone told me they were closing doors, I tried calling KD with no response. I'd like to place an order with them but don't want to get myself into a headache either.

Wasn't a marketing ploy was it?
If it was, it was inspired - sales must have gone up quite a bit!!

They are notorious for not communicating - said to be rushed off their feet, so the off break now and then will do anyone some good I suppose.

I hope they keep going, they've shown an aftermarket enthusiasm missing in many others in recent years.
I miss New Era - they had some nice gear - would have had a few parts for the 'X' by now if they were still going.

Ugh... I just noticed at the top of their contact page:
Kershaw Designs will be closed indefinitely due to a medical emergency.

They should have put that at the top of their home page. I just made a $250 order 2 days ago, the just sent an email to see if I'd get a confirmation or something and got this as the autoresponder:

The Kershaw Designs shop will be closed indefinitely due to a medical emergency with the owner. We wish we could give a more hard and fast date for when we will be back to serve the RC community, but due to the uncertain nature of this emergency, we can only say all open requests from customers and are saved and will be address as soon as they can be. Please bare with us.

Wish I had seen that before I placed my order. Now I have $250 in limbo.

While I wish Dan and KD as well as their customers all the best, the fact is that any order from Kershaw had the potential to go into limbo. Here's hoping everybody is made whole.

I ordered his xmaxx gears almost 8 months ago and have heard nothing but delays. They have my money and I have nothing. I emailed a month ago and got no responses.

Dan has always been an upstanding guy and I trust him. I hope he gets well because we need his awesome parts.

Ok, I wanted to buy an engine mount from Kershaw Designs but this looks great.
Unfortunately, my English is a bit bad so I do not know what to buy from FLM.
    Has a Leopard 5892 1340KV.
They have a few different to choose from, so is anyone who can say which one I should have?

I went with the 1/2" mount for my TP 5850. I love it but it's prob overkill- wait, did I just say that? Never mind, go for the double motor mount

    Is the 1/2" mount better?
Do you have some pic on it?

I tried calling the shop this weekend, which at the end of the greeting message says "this number is not for online orders. Please send an email to info2@..."

    So, I sent another email.

Don't worry, they're trying to send out everything they can to customers! Might take some time it sounds like.

Got mine back too. Tried filing a dispute, but while doing that, paypal told me the recipient is not receiving emails and my only option was to push it to a claim immediately. Then 4 days later, I got my refund. Never got a single response to any emails I sent Dan. I really wish him well and really would have preferred the conversion kit for my savage... I spent another $200 ($450) for a used flux hp on ebay yesterday.

Hes somewhat doing that on purpose, actually. Hes overloaded with orders and working 7 days a week. He doesnt need a website bringing him more business right now. I wont share information he gave me...but be ready for when he expands. Hes got tons of stuff coming and the shortages wont be an issue anymore. Til then, get your orders in asap. He cant keep anything in stock so the sooner you get your order in, the sooner youll get your parts.

For anyone trying to get a hold of him and having trouble, i guarantee its because hes busy making parts to get to making your parts. You can also try reaching out to him on facebook. His companies page is pretty active on there and so is he.

Figures... got my money back for a conversion kit, then spent $450 on an electric truck instead. At least I got my money back.

Website still has the "closed indefinitely" logo on the contact page.

Get the Poseidon mount, it's a bit more expensive but way more sexy.

Bit more effort went into the machining!
