Question Rustler: the throttle doesn't work, but the wheels turn

What do I need to do to be able to get my Rustler up and running again? I am kind of new to this hobby. I have been around it before but am just now starting to work on them.

I am more than willing, and quite capable, of helping you but I'm not really sure what you are saying. There are too many possibilities to cover without more information. Will you please elaborate?

What color is the ESC light? Solid red light is for nimh and solid green light is for lipo

Whenever i turn the car and remote on, the throttle doesn't work, so the car will not move but, the wheels turn. And i am currently charging my batteries to see make sure that isn't affecting it at all. My dad thinks that there is something wrong in the motor because nothing will rotate or turn in there.

I don't think there's nothing wrong with the motor. what color is the light on the ESC and what battery are you trying to run? Is the ESC light flashing? Or solid one color?

7 cell 8.4 volt brand: Racer's Edge 5000. Can you help me understand what the ESC light is so that i can look for it? Is it the light on the motor or the one next to the button where you turn it on?

When the car is still, the ESC light is solid green, but when it moves it flashes greens. But, I think that's because it blinks each time I move the throttle or something like that.

So in other words you are trying to run a NIMH battery in lipo mode. Solid green Silly ! push the on button on the ESC and hold it till you hear a tone. Should go to solid red for your type battery. I know this has already been said but the more the merrier!

I tried the video you sent me, and I followed the steps with each light blinking exactly like the video said it should and it still wont do anything but turn the wheels.

Am I reading correctly the wheels turn? is this when you throttle it with the wheels off the ground

ok after reading through this thoroughly in my opinion there is nothing wrong with your esc, battery or such.
The truck would still move in Lipo mode just will not run long before lvd kicks in.
Couple things to check would be if the motor is working. To check disconnect the leads from the esc to motor apply direct power from your battery to the motor and see if motor spins. If it does make sure the slipper clutch is tight (snug the nut and back off 1/8 to a 1/4 turn). If that is set right, check the mesh between the pinion and spur gear. Last and not what I hope is the input shaft pin, shouldnot be able to turn shaft from spur while holding the wheels from turning.

Wow, I was right. Myrustlervxl, you can either buy a new Titan 12T or upgrade to brushless. I say just get another Titan 12T. They are so cheap, they are throw away.

Wow I did not know titan 12T was so inexpensive. My son is still runs his 12T but he has a castle creation sct 1/10 under the bed for a future. But for $15 he might get another titan 12T.
