So far I'm in love, still trying to dial in suspension, start adding accessories, getting used to the truck before going out into the wild. Please enjoy, have a bunch of accessories on the way can't wait!!
Testing out suspension, flexing it to the max.

That truck is very impressive.
Thats good put this trx-4 to some tests. I would like to see a tug of war between a stock summit and a trx-4. Now that would be something to see.
Few different angles of the truck with a camera slider, tires and wheels are the obvious change, but there will be more change coming

Here is the TRX-4 on the home course i made, im not going to lie, it had a harder time climbing the bricks hill at the start, the battery is mounted on the center, compared to the UPS truck SCX10 i have the battery mounted on the front. I have to figure out a way to mounte the battery tray or just the battery more on the front of the vehicle for better front tire grab on the climbs.

I seen people front mount the battery and it would help with climbs going straight up, but it sits very high up when front mounted so when going on sideways on inclines it would be more prone to tipping. I'd add some weight to the front axle or remove the spare wheel from the rear.
Wrong tread sorry!

Here is my UPS Truck Axial SCX10 on the same course, to compare the 2. I actually really enjoy he UPS truck (axial SCX10) more over my Defender (TRX-4) because the UPS truck feels so much lighter and is easier to climb, even with the 12T, and then TRX-4 has the 21T, however with the TRX-4 you have more control in the slow climbing, just gotta be more careful because its a heavier vehicle and also a lot more top heavy. SO i suppose the TRX-4 feels more like a real car would climb maybe?? Anyhow, im thinking about putting a 35T motor in the TRX-4, mounting the battery to the front more and see how well that performs over the same course. Any suggestions on a 35T motor guys? I had my eye out on the RC4WD 35T motor, they are about $40 or so.

I quite like the cheap chinese rebuildable 540 motors like the ones from GoolRC. They're the same as the rebuildable ones RC4WD sells but at a fraction of the price.
Most other motors will be smaller and lighter than the Titan 550 that comes standard so a motor change is going to cause the front end to lift more.
Crawl Climb Test, UPS Axial SCX10 vs Traxxas TRX-4 Comparison, i like them both, Axial feels lighter and not so top heavy, the TRX-4 feels heavier over all and more top heavy as well, but its easier to crawl slower and be more precise. I feel more confident with the Axial, but TRX-4 feels more realistic sorta, i like them both in different ways, but leaning towards TRX-4 more. I do want to try running a 35T motor on the TRX4 and mount the battery more towards the front and see how it improves etc...enjoy the comparison.

Thanks for posting your impressions of both rigs. I'm sure people appreciate the feedback from someone familiar with both rigs.
I haven't watched your videos yet, but I plan too. Thanks

One of many vids to come!

I had a few requests to see how the cam stick is set up and how it works, here is a quick view of the stick cam and what i used, PVC pipe, wheel swivel, paint can cap, bolts and washers, Runcam 3 cube cam and go pro bike clamp. More vids on the way.

Testing out the stick cam in the wild, it makes the TRX4 Even more top heavy, had to adjust suspension springs, will likely do a carbon fiber stick in the future, but so far it's been working just fine, video from the cam itself coming up, still editing those, lots of feet in the videos lol

Part 2 from day 1 camping by the ocean, with little more crawl action. With the stick it makes it more challenging crawling making it more top heavy, but it's still very enjoyable.

The San Dunes of death!!, Trying to get out was fun, obviously these tires are not best for the sand, but it was fun trying to get myself out.

Here are some failed climbing attempts, im trying to place the battery more to the front to see if that will benefit the climb and provide more front tires grip.

Here is a nice relaxing vid of the Traxxas TRX-4 all clean and with the tires, wheels upgrade. WIll try and make another one with with other upgrades and changes all the accessories installed after a finish her up.

Sadly not having 4 arms to operate both at the same time, but it was still fun to make, The drone show the amazing location and the cliffs and size, The stick camera mounted on the TRX4 provides an awesome close up view of the area and then me trying to operated the truck while recording at the same time shows some of the slightly dangerous spots of the location. One of the best experiences i had to date, cant wait to go back to play there more
