    Upgrading to 32 pitch gears

Hi all, as I'm getting through a few of the 48p spur gears now I'm thinking I should look to upgrade. I'm confident that my meshing is fine as my sons (touch wood) hasn't gone through one since I did his. I'm on my 3rd in as many outings.

So, does anyone have a definative list of bits that I'd need to change over my Bigfoot RTR to a 32p gear set? Its running the stock Titan 550 motor only.

    Thanks in advance.

stock Titan and your chewing up spurs? something else is wrong. I run 32p and 48p with little to no problems. Prefer my 48p as they are quieter.

Gear cover on or off? Stock tires or somthing with more grip? And what type of slipper dose the bigfoot have?

Yes it's all stock. It seemed to be a number of heavy landings that was dislodging the motor so I've made sure that it's tight this time, maybe it was me being soft with the screws on that. I'll try and keep on top of that and ensure it's tight before each runs as I'm sure it's meshed right.

I'm just toying with other solutions and wondered if anyone has inserted studs to the motor (with loctite) and then secured using nyloc nuts? I'm just cutting down some M3 cap head screws and using penny washers as these should be easier to get tight than a little screw.

You should get a better pinion. The stock pinions turn into saw blades pretty quickly. I bought a set of Robinson Racing pinions and they are holding up nicely!

Especially with jumping, the motor mount can loosen and allow the spur gear to be shred by the pinion. I switched to 32 pitch gears for everything but more important is the mounting of the motor. I got the RPM hybrid gear cases on my P2de, Rusty, and Sla2h (x2). The RPM case has an aluminum plate to allow secure mounting of the motor so it won't be as likely to slip. I have never had a motor loosen since. I very highly recommend it.
