I wouldn't go with the mxl. I'd say go with a sidewinder8th with a 2650 or 2400kv motor or something like that. Unless you have the mxl laying around from another Traxxas rc. But yes, you can run 8th scale as long as you upgrade your rear half shafts.

I'm running a 2200kv motor but on 4s and it's still a 60+ mph slash but accelerates like a rocket. On 6s I haven't been able to open it up yet.

I run the MMX 2200kv, you can run it, but like SlashServices said, your axles are going to snap in half. MIP X-Duties will solve that problem.

Personally, I'd go with something like a 2400-2650kv and run 4s. MM, SW8, and SC8 are all great. Hardest part is keeping mine tethered down.

    Welcome to the Traxxas forums!

VXL-3S to MXL-6S? Yes, many here have done it... including me.

Note: MXL-6S is the same as Castle Creation's MM2. You can even up it to their MMX.

I would assume you would be going to a 2200kV or 2650kV motor with that ESC?

As stated above, you would probably have to upgrade some parts to handle the power/torque of the new system.

What many here upgrade to with 2200/2650kV power:

    1) metal motor mount
    2) metal bearing adapter
    3) Tekno Big Bone center driveshaft
    4) X0-1 differentials
    5) MIP X-Duty CVD axles (front and rear)
    6) 17mm adapters
    7) 17mm wheel/tire combo
    8) Large Slipper

Good luck and keep us posted!
