Plus you had to tune the engine just as much as a nitro. Where was the supposed benefit?
Probably still cheaper than buying nitro fuel. Yeah, I heard about HPI and Losi having issue with overheating. Hope Traxxas can fix this problem, if they're coming out with one.

Yeah but not a significant savings as those manufacturers marketed. Maybe everyone got caught up thinking they were going to be similar to a weed whip or chain saw engine and didn't realize the work was similar to a nitro engine.

Me? I hope Traxxas develops a gasser where it runs on pump gas with oil I can buy at the hardware store and requires a tune and maintenance similar to other small engines in my garage.

More bodies for their 4TEC Chassis perhaps? Ferrari, Lambo, Lotus, Porsche, McClaren, LM cars, 80s/90s supercars, 60s/70s muscle cars, etc. Make them scale looking (with optional light kits) and give Tamiya a run for their money!

And have the licensing fees run the prices up to where the sales wouldn’t support the production?

Ooh, I'd love that. I would seriously buy every single body if they did that.

Thread asked what Traxxas should make next. I simply gave an answer. I'm sure they already have to pay a licensing fees on the Ford GT/Mustang. I think the Ford GT is cool, but i don't like it enough to buy it.
Now if Traxxas made a Mazda 787B LM or Porsche 959 body for it i'd buy it immediately!! I'm a sucker for Nostalgia, as are many other people on this forum i'd imagine.
Only reason i'd consider buying Tamiya is b/c they have really cool bodies (older Ferraris, Porsches, etc) and they come in kit form.

Hopefully they put OBA back in the ultimate at some point. The new Ultimate lost the OBA feature. Maybe make it the
68087-44. I got use to the OBA with my 68087-24s. I like the new improved features of the latest ultimate. Just sort of miss the OBA feature. A slash size UDR might be cool too, or a ultra scale slash.

Lol, do the other forums you frequent not allow a free exchange of opinions and ideas? Your wishlist is fine, even admirable, but is not reasonable. Traxxas needs to be profitable to remain on business. Your post in the CTS-V thread just goes to prove my point that there are simply not enough consumers who want the same thing to make a wide range shells worth producing. Thanks!

Time for an updated 2WD Rustler, I think.

So, I am not the biggest fan of vroom-vroom-farty noises coming out of my RCs, but I think sound units have their place. I would like to see Traxxas produce a sound unit for the TRX4.

Traxxas needs to make an updated Stampede 2wd and then have that 0 body clip mount that will also be able to fit the older stampede.

Again, thread asked what Traxxas should make next; not a business case for what they should make next. I'm not saying Traxxas has to make ALL those body shells, just one of them.
I'm sorry, but the CTS-V shell choice is mediocre IMHO. Out of the hundreds of cars, why replicate that one? Like you mention it might be cheaper for licensing purposes. Perhaps Traxxas wanted an alternative to the Ford GT/Mustang and wanted a cheap way to appeal to the chevy crowd. I'm not saying Traxxas has bad taste - they hit it out of the park recently with the TRX 4 Defender/ Bronco. Love the Bigfoot #1 body and I think the UDR is badass as well. VR46 slash body is awesome as well as i'm a huge fan!

I have no idea what it costs to license a CTS-V body shell vs. a Ferrari F40 as an example. I'd imagine it would be cheaper to make a new body shell for an existing platform vs. an entirely new platform.

Sorry, I see where you're coming from now. I may have gotten a wee bit wrapped up in what I saw to be realities.

I think they should take a page from the past and come up with their own sportscar/sporty car shell for the 4-Tec 2.0. They did an excellent job with the TRX-4 Sport, and even the Tactical, if you like pseudo-military, tactikool styling.

For the 1/10 Rally i was thinking they could use some cool bodies such as:
Lancia Stratos HF Rally (with Alitalia Livery)
    and/or
    Audi S1 Sport Quattro Rally

Add in some light kits (would look awesome on these cars)

I mean, this is a 1/10 Rally car, is it not? I think the short wb would suit these bodies perfectly.

There are other rally bodies out there, but fitment with the chassis is iffy at best, it would be awesome to see more offerings from Traxxas with built in light bezels.

I am new to the hobby and after looking around, I concur, something 1/8 with the Traxxas economy of scale will be phenomenal.

It's ridiculous how little 500 dollars gets you from Losi or Associated. I almost order an 8ight-E RTR but can't get over the compromise they made with the shocks, hardware in general, etc

I think that Traxxas should make a bandit 4x4, something that people could get into the 1/10 4wd buggy world while not paying excessive amounts for a racing machine.
    I quit using auto-correct. It's changed everythong
