Update on my data logs. I got a 115mph speed run, a new PB for me!! I was looking at the rpm settings within the data log and it wasnít figuring the gear ratio correctly. Fixed that and now shows 37,531 rpm on that run. Seams good to me.

Sadly no, itís was getting dark and my brother was supposed to be my camera man but he fell asleep on the couch waiting on me to get the bugs worked out. That speed run was Wednesday, got to a record high of 77* outside. Perfect day for speed runs. Since then itís been a freezing cold 0-20* outside. Next time I take it out Iíll have a video.

Just wanted to thank everyone for sharing these notes on the XLX.
I will try to max out my MM2 before going to the XLX but these are all great notes for me.

Congrats Charger Man on the new PB.

    xlx down on power

hello, I have a 2wd rustler with castle 8th scale 2200kv motor and a castle xlx esc on two 3s lipos in series. went to make some passes and suddenly my car is wayyyy down on power, 107 amp current and less than 19,000 rpm at 90 percent throttle. I've been talking to some speedrun guys and castle and still cant figure out why its so slow. Anybody able to help out ? Thank you

    Welcome to the Traxxas forums!

What firmware version are you running in your XLX? Read from the beginning of this thread for more info.

What is the motor timing set to. I think 10į is default. I had improvements running a tpp motor by taking it down to 0į of motor timing.

That should be fine for that motor. Perhaps check if motor rotation is selected to be reversed on the esc. If so, change it to normal and flip any two of the three wires around that go to the motor to get it back spinning the correct direction. See if that helps.

its not. ran fine the pass before that one. only thing that changed was a cap pack. Starting to think maybe a bad solder since that was the only thing that changed?

Best thing to do is pull data logs to dissect what is going on.
    Key things to look at:
volts during a pull, RPMs, AMPs, Temps, and Ripple voltage, also throttle might be worth looking at.

Always worth a shot to re-calibrate the throttle too.
