    3s lipos that fit

I need some recommendations for 3s lipos that will fit our short battery trays(142mm long). What are you all running?
    Thanks!

    My Pede loves these:

    SMC 11.1V 4500mAh 85Amps/90C $35

Also, you can get taller batteries to fit by using a Velcro set up like this:

Thank you for the reply. Your velcro system looks great. I should have specified that I have found a number of batteries that seem too long, not too tall. I think our tray is only about 142mm.

If you are running them in a p4de most 3s batteries will work. The tray is 145mm long and most batteries are a few mm shorter. This has been my case anyhow. If you have a problem holding them down, you can get an expanded hold down kit. Save you from cutting into your chassis.

They don't sell them big enough to fit 4S hard packs

Thanks for the recommendations. I was about to buy a gens ace on amazon, until I saw it was 155mm. So I thought I would see what others are running.

get the battery expansion kit from Traxxas, part number 6727x. It will accomidate taller lipos, however the lenght is still the same. I use mine to fit a gens ace 3s hardcase lipo that is a BEAST. Here is a link for the battery with a guaranteed fit (with 6727x). youll also need a deans to traxxas adapter.

I purchased from SMC, a 3s and 4s lipo that were of a different look and design before these newer models shown, they're great and actually shows you the dimensions of the battery, which helps imensly... if your looking for a different brand, i picked up a VANT 7600mah 3s lipo and it too works great, fits perfectly well in the p4de as well.

    Link - https://www.amazon.com/7600mAh-75C-1.../dp/B06XCD43R2

PS - The VANT battery requires the traxxas battery expansion kit.

You can use Velcro without any cutting. I have the Velcro securely fixed under the front and back battery mounting anchors. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Well now jvogel. Thank you for that idea. I will surely check this out when I purchase my first 4s.... very soon I would say!

I will have to admit I have seen some terrible hack jobs where people have cut into their chassis.

    You are welcome, sir.

I agree. I don't want to cut my chassis either.

My Velcro design costs less than a dollar. Takes a couple minutes to install. Has lower weight. Lower CG. And, it's also extremely secure. I know because I crash a lot!

All my Traxxas Trucks use Velcro except my E-Revo, Summit, and Rusty.
