    2200KV swap out

Anyone using a 2200kv motor instead of the 1600kv? I have a extra motor sitting here with a water jacket, debating whether to swap it out but being lazy to swap the connectors.

There is someone on the Traxxas m41 owners facebook group that did it.

Locally a guy did it with his Spartan and the thing hauls!

Thanks, installed it last night and going out for a run in a hour or 2.. I am guessing the esc is like a car esc, any wire to any wire... Man feels like I am starting all over with this boat, learning new things. Made myself some parallel plugs and for some reason no one near me had traxxas plugs, no big deal.

Looks good let me know how it goes. I'm in Canada under a foot of snow no boating for me anytime soon.

Correct on the wires but give the throttle a test blip, if the motor spins backwards switch any two wires and you should be golden

Thanks man, well I took it out yesterday but didn’t have time to run it on 6s and on 4s it was definitely slow. As soon as I put the 6s on my wife took the boat and flipped it, pulled out the fishing rod I took and the line broke so I had to wait for the boat to come to shore for a hour. No water got inside so traxxas designed it very well. I forgot the rod by a light pole and by the time I knew it someone took it. Getting ready for another run!

Gman, have you tried it in snow? I have seen a few videos of boats in snow lol.

    This was Thursday

This was today, 55 mph, I do notice that the esc pulls a lot of amps from the batteries. I may parallel two pairs of 3s and then run them in series. Going to solder a cap pack as well.

Looking good and that is a decent speed!

I've never run this boat in snow but I ran a proboat cat in snow once. Was fun just watch your temps as the load will be much different depending how wet the snow is.

Here is a small clip from yesterday, I still cannot figure out which prop to upgrade to and need to buy a balancer.

Don't know how serious you wanna get?
But Dasbota is hands down the best prop preparer/handler in the business. Tell him what you have and I bet he has Trx specific packages?

Recommended Prop is Octura X442 you can do the balancing and sharpening as well if you want to do it. Amp draw for the batteries are different on boats which need more amps to push the motor on the water. EC5 is a good connector I've been using it since I start my RC Boating.
