    I'm stunned

Traxxas actually spent money to fabricate and produce 2 different steering rods for the XL-5 vs the VXL.

The extra pennies could not justify the production of two separate parts. Unless this is just to list the steering as upgraded from version to version. Needless to say they got me because of course I want the better parts.

I’m fairly sure that the link on the right is a carry-over for the 2wd models.

    I'm stunned

Well that makes sense but it doesn't belong on a 4wd truck. They're gone now so it's no big deal. I just think cheaping out like that sucks.

Possibly something to turn my wheels stronger and quicker than stock.

I just ordered this servo, don’t know if it’s faster but is certainly stronger and durable. I also added RPM long/short rod ends to beef up the reliability.

I'm going with more obscure parts with this build. I've done a lot of research before pulling the trigger on any of it. Power Hd is what I chose for the P4de.

I still run those same dinky steering rods on my XL-5 truck, no issues as of yet... i will upgrade them at a later date as the need arises.

I noticed that too when my son got his xl5. I wish the xl5 had a short antenna like the vxl and also wish they would have use hex bolt instead of Phillips head. Rant over

I get separating the models, but to source two sets of screws, rod ends etc. seems silly. My XL-5 roller had hex screws. Unless the previous owner installed them, weird that it had those but non adjustable camber and those meager steering rods. At least they didn't use bushing on the truck.

My son's xl5 had bushings, but now he has ball bearings.

The XL-5 i bought brand new back in JAN of this year has all hex bolts, and as for the longer antenna tube... the radio(TQ) that come with those trucks have less range compared to the radio(TQi) that come with the VXL trucks which have longer range and use a shorter atenna.

I was told newer chassis had bearings no matter what trim level.

All good I was glad they ditched the bushings for the P4de all together.
