Angry E-Maxx makes weird noise after changing motors

Hello, I had to change out my brushed motors because my old ones because they were shot. The transmission / slipper clutch / gears sounded just fine with the old motors but with the new ones on there, its super loud and noisy. Can anyone help?

turns out the nut with the spring that keeps the main black gear down was quite loose. so i tightened that
up and now its better, just the motors need to be broken in

    Cool !

Sounds like it might be time to throw a new lock nut on there.

So when I had the old motors on there it went decently fast, but with the new ones it goes like half the speed as the old ones at
    75% throttle. Is this normal?

It should be the same speed if not faster If the motors were bad. How far out is your nut for the slipper clutch turned out?
