Short run showing the awesome power on 6s and how it just lifts the front end up at any moment

Is it manageable on 6s... I haven't used 6s in my Emaxx or Erevo in years but I just ordered 4 SMC 3s lipos. I found with 6s I did get cooler temperatures especially on the battery.

It is very manageable, my video above was on 6s and driving 1 handed! The center diff really calms this truck down. Also being geared 15/54 doesn't hurt. Truthfully, my ERBE v1.0 is as fast or faster on 4s than this is on 6s. Of course the O.G. E-Revo isn't stock and geared 21/50. Still, you won't regret going 6s, the power is amazing

As he hucks it through boulders that would get my full scale subaru wagon stuck!

    Thanks for the videos!

I would not worry about the boulders - it’s the “ubiquitus maelboxius postius” (common mailbox post) that is the bane of Revos!

Photobucket pics appear on the Google Chrome browser if the "Photobucket Embedded Image Fix" extension is added.

I talked to my local shop today, he said now they’re not expecting them until April sometime. At least I’ll have time to save up to replace the steering servos.

Sounds like you need a new hobby shop.

It’s a small place and it’s the only one close.. I could probably go to the hobbytown about an hour away and get it sooner but I know the guy that owns the local one here so I’d rather wait a little longer and give him my business. But yeah it’s a pretty small family owned place

    So I found the weakness!

The tires! I blew out 3 tires almost simultaneously. The glue held up, the rubber literally be broke apart from the rim.

This my fourth run, two on 4s, and two on 6s. I was on a mixture of pavement and grass when they started ballooning like crazy and I knew something was up.

Also pretty sure I lost a servo, need to do more research, steering became very slow and laggy, but one was warm and one was cold to the touch and the end of the rim. Ran out of time and will check later.

The blue rubber dust protectors are all also starting to crack, all four up front.

You think Traxxas would warranty either the tires or the servo considering it's only been a week?

I don’t know.....only time I see tires tear like that is by either doing super crazy fast donuts, inner wheel looses traction baloons and tears. Or when wheels are run with truck in the air with full throttle. I have a total of 4 6S runs on mine, all full throttle runs on open dirt field and also pavement and nothing broke ripped or what not.

No donuts. No big air. Definitely some high speed runs on pavement and gravel with some hard braking. Some wheelies with front wheels in the air, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was crazy, one front wheel started ballooning and both back tires ripped within like 5 minutes. I was definitely starting to really push it, but I thought it could handle it.

Any suggestions on new tires? Try the EXT's again and take it easy?

Maybe try some regular truggy wheels instead? I ran mine yesterday for a while with them and they don’t really balloon much. A bit slower due to the decreased diameter but more torque and better run times.

maybe it was just a bad batch of tires. maybe you really forced it too hard on the throttle with already balooning tires. maybe it was just bad luck.

remember that somewhat balooning of the tires is welcome as that signals a soft tire with high grip for hard offroad terrain. of course such a tire is not well suited for speedruns for instance. there is a trade off between high grip and highly stable tires.

Here is an honest review of the new E-Revo. The customer he refers too just might be yours truly.

    What's happening with the E-Revo?

There is no venue on the Traxxas forums to compare Traxxas vehicles to non-Traxxas vehicles or to discuss non-Traxxas vehicles at all.
