    Canít decide help please.

Trying to decide between Rustler vxl, Slash 2wd vxl or Slash 4x4 VXL?
Iíll use 2s lipos and occasionally race maybe couple times a year but for mostly fun on concrete and short grass.

Are there any advantages with either of them for jumping and landing?

Landing the Rusty or Slash 2WD will be less stressful due to less weight.

It's all a matter of preference. Only you can decide which you like best...

    Good luck!

    Edit:
    I have 2 1/10 Slash 4x4s and a 1/16 E-Revo VXL.
I still want a Rustler VXL!

I have had all three at different times. The rusty wasn't vxl tho.

    I like all three.

The rusty was ssssoooooo fun but so was the 2wd slash.

The 4x4 will be better hands down for speed runs (theoretically, I don't use em for that)
And off roadin in grass and rocks.

A 2wd is ssssooooo fun in dirt!!! Donuts all day!!! And relatively cheap upgrades if you do it correctly you can buy 4x4 parts for the two wheel drive. for example the stock 4x4 driveshaft r great for the two wheel as a cheap upgrade and so r the steering links of a 4x4 for the camber links/steering on the 2wd.

    Hopes this helps.

    Welcome to the Traxxas forums.

You really should start your own thread instead of posting in someone else's, but since you're asking...

Try putting more pre-load on your GTR shocks by tightening the shock collars (the threaded rings above the shock springs).

    Good luck and have fun!

I have an Slash Ultimate 4x4 and a Rustler(original xl-5 with a Velenion setup installed) The Slash has tons of upgrades including motor/esc(1/8th scale) MIP axles, motor mount, etc. I run it on 3s/4s and it's a beast. The Rustler is basically stock xl-5 with the motor upgrade. It runs on 2s/3s. It's a blast...light,fast,nimble and pretty darn tough! I love the Slash in the dirt and it's a hoot in the snow. The Rustler is a blast in the dirt/grass and jumps a lot better(lighter) IMO the Velenion motor/esc is best suited for the 2wd/lighter stuff on 2s with an occasional 3s. I have a GT that's fitted with the Velenion and it flat out flies on 3s but again....much lighter car.The 4x4s are heavier and really like 3s/4s and lower kv motor/esc setups.

Looks like it will be the rustler vxl or a 2wd Slash. What kind of money is it to convert a Slash 2wd to a 4wd?

Easiest way is to buy a roller because the chassis is different and swap your electronics over. I'm thinking 200 to 300 depending on used or new.

it's your call, honestly, I would go with the slash 4x4 lcg as I have previously mentioned

the 2wd slash can't be converted to a 4wd slash, they are a complete different chassis design

    I would get a rustler or a 4x4.
The rustler I would buy 2.8s for tho.

Welcome to the forum and the addiction! You are among a group of people who share the love of the Traxxas Slash 4x4! If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Remember we are here to help!

Let me add my $0.02. For me it's the Slash 4x4 all day long! I have had the other two trucks in years past. 4x4 is where I'll stay

Well from my limited experience I would go with the Slash 4x4 for all around fun. As mentioned it does weigh a little more but with a little work the suspension can be setup to help with that.
Nothing like 4wd for great traction and pulling through corners!

VERY good decision on the truck... and Rottie!!! You're gonna love it! I've bought three of them in the last year and I'm happy with them all. What RX/TX are you using?
