How would you add multiple ratios to this?

Do you own a nitro vehicle? If so, how many hours have you driven (not tuned) it?
Of time spent with it "in hand" what is the percentage of time spent driving it rather than "messing with" it?

A 2-speed would also open the door for running a 2S or 3S battery.

EDIT: I also realize it would be semi counter effective.

Agreed, I don't see the benefit or desire of driving a large truck slowly and inefficiently.

I feel ya. The same reason why not everyone races a 1:1 rig either, surpasses the budget. 1 million + for the truck, then $60K in prep etc. per race. 25 mph on 3s would be fun in some situations, change the electronics. Not gonna be many guys driving at 50 mph unless its on flat smooth ground, you'll lose the visual too quickly.

Perhaps then this is not the right truck for you. It seems you would be in a world of disappointment when maintenance or repairs was required and the funds for those did not exist. Not to mention... you'll only run ONE battery?!? That's CRAZY talk, like eating only one potato chip!

I own a Revo .30 (LRP) and my drive time is a lot longer than my tune time.

    2-Speed Upgrade?

I own an E-Revo Brushless Edition or two and my drive time is 100%. Some are not as fortunate nor are they aware that simply running nitro can significantly reduce their run actual time.

If it follows the traxxas line of esc systems, it will have 2 speeds, just you will have to manually engage training mode to drop to the lower speed/gear.

win win, yeah? everyone cool with that solution? lol

Only way for a 2-speed to work on an Electric is to have second gear be underdriven. First being 1:1, second being .65 or something like that. Really no point, unless for Nitro where lower gearing is need to accelerate.

Besides, the super wide torque band of brushless motors has elliminated the need for 2 speed transmissiions in fast electric rcs.
