    The posted battery compartment size is 181mm x 46mm x 56mm.

    You sure that’s right? Also, what’s length, what’s width, and what’s height? Thanks.

    I am assuming that it is 181mm (7.125") in Length, 46mm (1.81") in Height, and 56mm (2.2") in Width.

    The Height, or Width seems off, it should be double that for 2x LiPos.

    You can read it straight from the spec sheet

    https://traxxas.com/products/landing...-desert-racer/ (scroll to bottom)
    181mm x 46mm x 56mm

    On the list of recommended batteries https://traxxas.com/products/models/...er?t=batteries
    They have a 4s 6700 mah listed
    L = 178 mm x H= 50.5 mm x W=45mm

    3s 5000 mahs are also listed (it says its recommended to use 2)
    L=155 mm x H=25 mm x W=45 mm (each), so double the height of this, and u get 50 mm

    So, im guessing the 56mm on the spec sheet, is the Max height.

    So, is the 56mm battery compartment spec the total height? If so, a 28mm thick battery in theory, is the maximum size? It would really suck to get your batteries stuck inside because they swelled a little bit--then because there's no room to expand, they overheat even more and are physically damaged due to compressive forces
    It's too bad the battery compartment is so small. I'd like to use hard case.

    If it fits a traxxas 6700, the battery compartment is pretty huge...

    Itís going to be a tight fit with traxxas own 3s 5000mAh batteries, 135x28,5x44.
    Weíll see...

    Amain's video, or someone else, showed that there is wiggle room with traxxas' 5000mah batteries, so might be able to get 2 hardcase in there maybe.

    Hard case batts will fit, as long as it’s thickness is not much more than 1”. Total thickness space for compartment is 2.2”. So 2 1” batt packs will fit. Most batts list dimensions under specs. I’ve been checking, hoping I can get 2 6700 mAh batts in that space.
