Good job! You're going to want to do what I did. Solder the BLACK, BLACK and RED, RED wires from your two fans together, and then solder that to a 3 prong servo plug. I'd just cut the plug off an old servo, or go to your LHS and pickup a servo extension cable. Here's mine.

My plug is a 2 pronger, but you can do the same with a 3 pronger plug.

    Kind of like this.

The GREY plug goes in the VOLTAGE/TEMP port of your Receiver, and the RED plug gets the RED plug coming from your battery's (or ESC's) voltage tap.

If you look close, you'll see that the bottom RED plug comes off my RED ESC post. If you don't want to solder, then you have to get the Traxxas battery tap. Anyway, that's what plugs into the V/T harness's RED plug that you are asking about. It's to monitor your temp.

Are you using telemetry with your setup now? If so, are you saying that you show GREEN in both your upper right and left corners of your devices screen? If so, what happens when you disconnect (and turn off) your device from tour Transmitter?

No, it hasn't been to bad. We got snow this year, and when we got it was very early, but since then we've been pretty good. Anyway, what happens when you disconnect and turn off your device (example: iPhone, iPad...whatever)?

Modern ESC's have two functions. One is the BEC, and the second is speed control. To check to see if your ESC's BEC is working plug in a 6vdc battery pack into one of your receiver's non used ports. Plug in two servos: one into your receiver's steering and one into your throttle channel. If you have a Traxxas Rx this would be port #1 or 2 for one servo, and #3 for your second.

Once hooked up and powered up. If both your servos work then both your Tx and Rx are good, and your ESC's BEC is bad. If the servo's don't work, I would try another receiver. Usually, if you are having a problem with the your ESC's throttle (and the BEC is good) you have no throttle, but good steering (when yourXO-1's electronics are all hooked up normally).

Make sure though, that you didn't accidently put your steering servo in port #1, and your ESC in port #2 if you have a Traxxas receiver. This is a common mistake with guys that are new to receivers that have two steering (or #1) ports.

When you do/check all that let me know what you find. My gut feeling is either you don't have your throttle plug in the right Rx port, or you have a bad ESC.

Oh okay, I thought you had a stock ESC. What I did, and it has really worked out well. I took a Castle MM2 and put it with the XO's original ESC's cap pack. That's what is pictured above. It looks like stock, but it isn't. Down the road, maybe some day, I'd like to try the Traxxas 8s ESC that they use in the V2 Xmaxx's.
