New wheels and tires for my xmaxx If you have a scale and clod wheels please read

    Hey all,

Looking to mount clodbuster wheels and tires onto my xmaxx.
Does anyone here have a wheel and tire they could weigh for me please?

can be the stock or tribute versions. Just want to figure out weight to compare to stock xmaxx wheels/tires which are 685-635 grams.

    Thanks in advance!!

Not sure but I wasn't planning on dropped $430-500 for four wheels, tires and alum knuckles to make it happen. Guessing you don't own a set and a scale though right? Of the clodbuster wheels/tires...
Clod wheel and tires are decently big and I'm thinking similar weight to the xmaxx wheel and tires but alot wider.

I have stock txt1 tires wheels foams but no way to weigh them but they are about half the weight of a Xmaxx tire depending on rims used

The hand method so long as its obviously lighter is a suitable answer lol. Main thing i care about is that they are the same weight or lighter. Thanks for your input ! sounds like they would be light enough to tribute version of the wheels over stock since they are stronger and not that much heavier from other posts I've read. Only downside to the tribute wheels is that in the middle where the 2 pieces meet, they thought they were being smart and adding a groove to allow air to pass through. being in the center + centrifugal force means water/mud gets sucked into them. So will only need to plug the holes and add a hole on the tire I guess

I do believe that the clod wheel/tire will not hold up to the power and speed the xmaxx generates.

The xmaxx tires are so much taller... I cant imagine they would work. Will look like touring car tires on a stampede. Good luck 8)

Yeah, if it does come to that anyone know alternative wheel and tire setup that would be comparable to the clod wheels and tires. But not as big and heavy as the losi Mt XL setup

Clod tires are 6x4 Xmaxx are 8x4 and clods are stiffer. But you won't be able to run these on the Xmaxx steering knuckles are too big

Have adapters for the xmaxx to run the clod wheels so knuckles won't be an issue. Rc4wd sells them

x-maxx wheels vs clod buster / txt-1 wheels...

i figured someone would have hooked us up with some pics/info by now, guess it's my turn. like rag said, clod wheels/tires are a little too little for the x-maxx. they are wide enough but too short. plus they will have quite a lot of offset by the time the adapters push them out far enough to clear the steering knuckles. also loose quite a bit of ground clearance.

(don't tell the wife i used the food scale for this )

Thank you very much rizzr0d this was exactly what I was looking for to the T. Thank you again!
Now looking at the pics yeah seems ways too small.
Now to find a tire comparable in size but wider than the xmaxx wheel/tire setup but not as heavy as the losi Mt xl's
Wish I could just scale the clod wheels and tires up or widen the xmaxx ones haha.

Love the Tamiya wrench used to hold up the axle on the TXT! The X-maxx looks hilarious with the Clod tires.

hey rizzod can i borrow the wife's scale? lol

these are rampage MT tires. 5rh scale mt tires, prolly similar to the losi claws.

needs modding of hexes and the wheels inner support fins.

broke the dremel so never finished it to drive them.

Fourdub. Happen to have the weight of those things?
Looking like my only two options here to get the look I want are the losi Mt XL wheels and those ones. The lighter of the two being the winner.

Rampage tires are a good bit heavier than xmaxx tires. Not sure how much but a buddy and i compared them and the prolines too by hand. Rampage were clearly heavier than both trx and proline options. We did not weigh them but could clearly feel the difference. My buddy put the prolines on the rampage and he likes them much better, and said the difference was night and day. He really disliked the stock rampage tires. I think they look pretty awesome tho!

Can you help me? Can you take a couple side x side pics of the x maxx and that red rc for size comparison? Is it a TX or CLB?
