How far down is the standard measure of the spring. I put 12mm and 50wt oil?

It's not so much of a measurement and rather a point where the chassis is sitting where you want it.
Typically you set the springs so the axle shafts are sitting parallel to the ground or the raising the chassis slightly higher than level.
The difference can been seen if you were to run with no body vs a heavy body, the pre-load spring would be higher up the shock with no body and would be lower with a heavy body.
It all depends on each persons' preference.

thank you everyone.
The spring collars adjust ride height. Oil weight adjusts dampening. Spring rate needs to be increased if you go up in oil. The stock front springs and oil are not too bad. The rear springs and oil need a big increase. Try using the 1.5 rear springs with 50 wt oil and leaving the front stock. You may not need to change the front unless your jumping big.
