After watching every youtube video, it looks to me it’s a bit under damped. So a bit thicker oil maybe? Toughts? Anyone?

The one at my local shop isn't really a "demo", it's more of a "display only" kind of thing. Currently it is just covered in fingerprints & drool.. lol

It a little soft for big jumps, light bashing it’s perfect. I plan on a little thicker oil and the adjusters on front and rear shocks were at the top so there’s a lot of room for adjustments

I taped the inside of the wheel wells to protect the paint from tire rubs. Then did the recommended wheel hole tape over thing to keep dirt out. I also ditched the driver insert, connectors and the connector hold down so I can run my lipo wires with non-traxxas connectors into the cab. Now I can reach through the windows to plug in.

So after about 10 minutes I lost steering, I turned off the esc and then I couldn’t get it to turn back on. After about 5 min of messing around with it I finally got it to turn on but still no steering...awesome, I always wanted a $800 paper weight. It acts like the servo is disconnected but it’s plugged in. I knew the stock servo wasn’t the best I just didn’t plan on replacing it this soon

Sorry to hear. But this is the reason I always plan to replace receiver, servo, and if needed esc if I buy a Traxxas RC. I really wish they would sell their models as kits.

Yup me too but they try and save money where they can. I planned on tearing it down today anyways but I wanted to at least get through a full pack. I think I need bigger jack stands too. Overall I’m impressed with the fit and finish and detail of the truck.

When I get my udr I’ll do what I did with my Xmaxx. Remove and sell the stock servo, motor, esc, transmitter and receiver before ever running it

I’ve had much better performance and reliability from other manufacturers electronics

I noticed mine was a little warm after the first 15 min. It looks like they don’t put much in. Most of it just flings off but I think coating the housing with grease will help keep it cool. How much of a job is it? Are you greasing the planetary gears as well?

It’s about 20-25 screws in. Yes, I pushed some grease into the side openings of the sun gear.

For better or worse I installed a slower, longer 1520 1600kv motor and ordered a bigger pinion 32p/mod.8. It’s been raining here I needed something to do to it.

For what its worth, most everybody building TTs do a kind of break in on the rear r&p gears running the truck on the stand to let them wear in, gear mesh, a bit before running hard. I thought that was interesting to do so, perhaps that task is in order with these trucks as well.

need to calibrate esc... its very slow on 4s.

Hobbytown Temecula said they only got 2. 1 fox and 1 rigid.

i didn't know they didn't sell any fox pre orders.... lol i asked if they had any "preorder slots" left and they said yeah a couple, so i drove there last week.

i called corona hobbytown first as they are closer, and they told me their first batch of preorders was soldout, and i could still preorder and get the ones after that.

its most likely they only got 2 as well.

Temecula said they were told their shipment was coming in april and were not expecting to get these two trucks in. as soon as they called, i asked my boss if i could go and she gave me the rest of the day off, lol.

That’s cool!! The lady at HT Corona said there was 2 or 3 preorders in front of my 2 preorders... so that makes me number 3 or 4 out of first 8 she said they were getting. Maybe tomorrow my phone will ring...

Are you sure it wasn’t in training mode? It seems like after I ran a couple packs mine was a little faster, I’m guessing due to everything loosening up but still it seems plenty fast.

I'm a light to moderate basher, so never really any full trigger pulls, but this truck felt like it needed some ummph sometimes.

i'll check the mode and calibrate is needed. it might need a light break in like macfab mentioned in another thread, hehe.
