I love the rivets on the front fender halfspeede. After looking around some more, are those just 2.2/3.0 wheels with a 17mm hex?

Installed a geared diff into the #1 UDR
All 16 bearings in the rear axle were way dirty
Blew / wore out, the first set of ring and pinion gears
rite after diff install - back on the work bench again

Happiness is having parts ready to install

Do you think it wore out BECAUSE of the geared diff install?

I picked one up about a year ago, Iím not sure why they say itís a traxxas tool kit itís more universal. It has the standard 1.5 2.0 2.5 plus some nut drivers and screwdriver set. You get what you pay for. The metal is soft so the tips round off and the plastic gears in the handle strip out. Itís not strong enough to take 5mm wheel nuts off that are on the UDR. Pick up some of these from protek. They are much stronger and you can replace the ends when they wear out. I think I paid around $20 for 2 if them.

These are from matco and and they have been great, I use them for the 2.5 3.0, think I paid around $45 for 3 of them and after a year of use they look great and the ends still look fresh.

Correct, mine say Dynamite on them. They were separate from truck. The LHS guy just said this kit had every size needed for the UDR.

These are going to be traxxas branded. Traxxas part number and everything. They also started selling body scissors. I dont have a part number for that yet

Screw pin fell out of the rear driveshaft. Used a broken sway bar to replace it lol Its the ONE screw I dont have a replacement for.

Today, I bought my UDR from my local hobby shop! I guess that answers the question of what did I do with my UDR today.

Now to add some details....I also need to buy batteries. My default move would be to buy traxxas completer kit (twin 3s).

Silly other question, could I run the truck with twin NiMh that my kids use in their Stampedes? At least until I buy my lipos?

Nevermind....I just read the manual where it says not to use NiMh as they will get too hot. Oh well......shopping for the Lipos and charger now. Trying to decide whether to go Traxxas brand or else some other recommended setup.

The Traxxas brand (from all I've read and understood) are more like basic entry level batteries. They're fine for what they are. If you want better batteries, then you buy something else with the understanding that you will have to change the connectors as well.

Gens ace has some great lipos, 4s 50c 5000mah for around $80. I have 2 and get almost an hour of runtime with them unless Iím in sand then itís a little less. Iv have 10 gens ace lipos for my other rcís and never had a problem with any of them

I just bought 2 hobbystar batteries off ebay. 2s 100c 8000mah for $80 each? I think. Ive ran them once and so far so good. The traxxas batteries are nice because you dont need a balance board. They are plug and play with the traxxas charger.

Im hoping that the 100c helps keep the motor a little cooler. I forgot who suggested that to me.

Lovin’ this 1 million wt Lucas diff oil (associated)
    Front diff was empty
Pulled out of every tippy insadent on 3s today on grass
Race worthy with 34/47 gears on a 100’ track
Rear drive shaft is lasting much longer with the
    10mm shock limiters installed -
front drive cup have no binding from not being fully extended
    Way less body roll
Changing out the old black shock fluid for new 30wt - really smooth

    Run and run some more

one ton that truck looks great covered in mud.

    Broke another front sway bar
Broke more axle pins. thats at least 3 now
blew out a tire. the driver side rear seems to bald faster that the other side.

Took it to a construction site and was able to see the suspension in full motion and it was beautiful. I forgot my jumper wire to run a solo 3s 8400mah. After killing my 4s batteries, I installed 6s and was reminded how much I hate 6s. To avoid that I installed the bluetooth module and turned on training mode at about 65% which is pretty much 4s lol

32/47 gears on order per CrazyXMAXX recommendations.
hobbywing 2200kv motor on order also along with a new tqi receiver because my XMAXX receiver literally burst into flames.

Iíve broken 2 front swaybars so I finally just removed it and canít tell any difference with or without it so Iím just going to leave it off.

Installed the Traxxas light kit yesterday. Super well done... my only complaint is the wiring seems a little fragile, would have liked to have seen heavier gauge wire and a sheath around it all. But its not like i plan on taking it on and off frequently.

Also installed a Castle BEC so i can run a Savox 1270 servo at 7 volts.

I routed things a little differently.

I removed the top screw holding the bumper assembly and found a nice little slot that the front light cable set passes through.

I also do not llike the tiny frail wires without protection that is so common on other traxxas cables (like the one from the amplifier for example). I think Traxxas should makes these better. I routed mine up the 'A' pillar and put a piece of gorilla tape over them along with the nylon zip ties that came with the kit.

Another piece of tape here across the top bar of the roll cage.

I do not like that this cutout makes it hard to slide body on and off over the bumper.
