Question Made and upgrade on the gearing to 18/50 and goes slow!

Hi guys so I decided to make an upgrade to 18/50 because the spur gear (stock) was in really bad condition!
The thing, my Xmaxx (6S) goes really slow, looks like is running when the batteries went dead!
Is it something to do where I put the pinions on the motor?
    Can someone help?
    Thank you

the piņon could be slipping on the motor shaft, maybe.
did you slipper clutch come out of adjustment?

In this case put back the original pinion and spur gear to see if it's still slow.

Did you check also if all cells of your batteries are good ?

Sounds like it’s hitting (frozen in) LVC - or training mode
Ever cleaned and lubed the motor bearings
    Test motor no pinion
Spin wheels check for binding -
clean and lube- replace bearings through out
    Try a different ESC

Does the fact to not change the values in the the traxxas app may have a link with your issues guys ? I know somewhere in the settings you can set the gear 18/50 or something like that.

The stock spur gear (the plastic one) was with no teeth so I changed!
Iīm not using the stock vxl and the batteries are fully charged!
Is it possible the other ESC that I have is in training mode or just some connections like the temperature wire is not properly connected and for safety reasons is not giving me full throttle!?!?
    Thank you guys

Alright... If you don't give all elements, we presume it's a vxl

    Maybe -check -test slipper clutch
    Reprogram / recalibrate max6
    A video would help

At this point I would say its the temp sensor that needs to be replaced, I had to replace one before and it fixed the problem of going slow for me.

So because was running slow I put again the motor pinion (15) with the 50 spur gear (metal one) and I could see straight away that the tires were "balloing" so it went fast!
Problem was that after 5 minutes without the cover I could see that the pinion and spur gear was getting to hot and could see little bit of smoke coming out!
    Does anyone had this problem?
I īm starting to think itīs better to order the stock one (54 - the plastic one) because if not Iīm gonna burn this monster!
    One more thing!
Can someone tell me where can I find the correct "map" so I know for sure it was not the little pins beneath the motor?
