    Single 6S Battery

Give it to me straight. I got 2 different answers from Traxxas support. Can I use a single 6S in my UDR or not. Just got it yesterday. 1 guy said yes and one said no. I think the reason for no is because they don't make a single 6S. I like buying Traxxas vehicles but I want honest answers.. Thanks for your time. Sorry auto correct battery.

I too am waiting for someone to say they have tried this and what their experience is.

Me personally, I'm gonna use 2x 3s packs, that way if a cell goes bad, i can replace a cheaper 3s battery, than lose and replace a 6s battery.

I only run mine on 4s traxxas 6700's so far.

Interested to hear what others who have the UDR, say about a single 6s pack.

I would assume yes as long as you use the plug that comes with the truck to complete the circuit.

I have a single 6s pack. If I have to buy 2 3's I will. But if I don't have to..... Is it fast enough on the 4s?

Well, on 4s its a fun truck, it is a handful. it is kinda slow, but for what it is, its very very good.

4s will break the rears free and let ya drift pretty good.

i did reduce the weight by removing the spare tires, and added a spoiler to increase downforce on the rear (was nose heavy before i took the tires off lol).

Not sure 6s is needed, but to some, its needed for the sheer power of it. i ran 3 6700's in a row without heat problems.

but i am a light to moderate basher.

this is about the highest I've jumped it, on the single jump on our circle track.

Well, in my old novak esc, one plug powered the BEC and the other is just for the motors. So its possible that using a single 6s will fry your ESC.

That is an oldddd esc. From the 90s or early 2000s. So idk take it with a grain of salt

in principle you sure can run a 6s single pack. two 3s packs in series is nothing else than one 6s pack for the esc. you just have to change the connectors. the two plugs on the esc are only for "convenience" to have two plugs. but what they do between those two plugs is just connecting the packs in series with the wire.

i for myself always change the esc to only one plug and connect the batteries in series but in principle its the same.

this is not comparable to the old novak or evx2 because they had four wires with two seperate plugs each having with a + and - pole. and that lead to the "problem" wit the BEC feeding from only one side.

When my UDR pre order from Amain comes in,

    I'm going to try out a 6s 5000mAh 6S 35~70C battery, swap out everything to XT90.
Its similar in size to 2 Traxxas 3S 5000 mAh Lipos.

Going to connect it to a spare Sensored Castle Creations 2200kV and MMX ESC.

So as long as you have only 2 power wires coming from your esc (one + one -), then yes it should be fine. But you'll still need to make a jumper connector to plug into whichever connector is left open.

Every where I read you can only use 4s. But I think that's because Traxxas does not make a single 6s

I'm running a single 6s with xt90's. It's slow on 4s about 30mph ide say. I'm also using a mamba monster esc. Already posted my setup on the udr Facebook page. The lipo I'm using is from a company that traxxas doesn't particularly like.

Im running a single 6S SMC 7200mAh 90C battery, have 2 of them, they are a tight fit.
someone mentioned in the other battery thread that they might puff in long run.

I as well am running the smc 7200 mah 6s batteries. They do fit really tight. But they give some killer run times.
If it still moves, it aint broke enough!

YES. I had to remove the fold over gate to fit it in, but it does. Runs great. With the app, and only mod is the Traxxas lite kit, 49mph.

If your not using MAXX AMPS, your robbing this of true 150c discharge JMHO. They make several single and dual battery setups.

MaxAmps is the biggest scam in the RC industry. Speed run guys that pull over 300 amps figured that out years ago.

Max Amps are not what they claim to be. Their C ratings are truly over inflated!! But to each their own. To me they are just way overpriced.

I tired to use a 8400 3 cell Lipo but it does not seem to work. My throttle wont work only my steering when I turn the wheel on the controller that is my throttle. What is my issue?

You may have the throttle and steering wires reversed on your receiver. Check your wiring at the receiver.
