    Better alternatives to stock body?

    Hey all,

I've been bashing my Stampede 4x4 VXL since I got it last December. It has now come to be the time I invest in a new body, after continuous bashing, the rear body posts, and the body have become nearly useless. I'm looking for a durable body, that looks nice. Looking for that rigid monster truck look. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Check out the Muddy Monster bodies on ebay. I like them a lot. Cheaper and thicker than stock, too. I still use drywall tape and shoo goo, plus a special thermo-moldable plastic to reinforce the rear body posts.

Any proline body of your choice will be considerably thicker as well. They make many different styles that fit the stampede 4x4.

You can find them cheaper if there is one you like. Just Google the part number.

Thanks for all the advice, I ended up getting a stock body just for simplicity. It's clear, i'm not sure how to paint these. Can somebody explain how the painting procedure goes?

EDIT: I do have Tamiya paint by the way.

You tube is awesome for painting tips. Make sure you was the body with soap to get the oils off. Then if you want to mask it off buy a new roll of blue painters tape from Walmart and take your time masking. Itís all about the prep work. I do multiple light coats and let them dry at least 20 min between coats. Then I let it sit over night. Here is the last three trucks I painted. I painted the Pedes for my kids and the Pro MT for me.

A bit late but rc maniacs (who now might selling under a different name) do the original xmaxx unbreakable body and they also now sell...slash, summit, outcast etc etc bodies. IMO not as pretty but tough as nails.

Not sure if I had a Proline body on my Pede once, but the JConcepts body is the strongest once that I had on any car.
