    I Might Be Getting a TRX4...

    Hey!

I'm looking at getting the TRX4. Should I get the Bronco or Defender?

    Is it worth the $450?

There are a couple of differences between these two, aside from the bodies, of course. The biggest difference is the wheel base (WB), the Defender has a 12.8" WB, and the Bronco has a 12.3" WB. 12.3" is the standard WB for most scalers/crawlers in its calls, so it is very easy to find another body to fit it (Axial, Proline, JConcpets); there are not that many 12.8" bodies to choose from. The Defender, in my opinion, looks a lot better than the Bronco, but all of those scale goodies it has adds a lot of weight up high, making it a lot more top heavy.

When I bought my TRX4 the Defender was the only option, if I bought one today it would be the Bronco or the kit.

The Bronco is the better performer out of the box because the Defender body is heavier and top heavy.

The Bronco also has the standard 12.3" wheelbase so it accepts most bodies as Greatscott has said above.

I'd go with the Bronco unless you absolutely have to have the Defender body.

Is it worth $450? To me it definitely is.

I have the Defender, I like that body because the cage and bumpers actually do a good job at taking most of the abuse from flips and rolls.
From what I've seen the Bronco body is damaged much more easily. I run mine without the spare wheel and roof rack, helps with the weight balance.

So many choices. Going to bronco body does give you more choices for changing bodies. I like my defender body but it is more top heavy. Still just happy to have one. So pick something and you'll be happy, or just buy both, right?

The Broncos lighter but I love my Defender body it looks so cool plugging through the mud and I'll agree with the earlier comment the roof rack helps a lot when the thing rolls down hill. Think i'm going to take the spare wheel off though, Id like to mount it on the hood but would be in the way I think.
