I swapped mine out before it failed with a $30 eBay servo I had. wasn't great.

I then bought a Savox SV-1270TG with a ton of torque and I'm very happy with it.

after a few packs mine gave out. i called traxxas and they sent me a replacement 2075x servo.

the replacements come from a diff location than the pre-built trucks. so chances this new servo is better than the OEM version.

I dropped in a savox 0231mg servo. It did need like 2 minutes of dremeling to make the servo sit tight and flat.

works pretty good, its a 3 year old servo, i had forgotten about lol.

contact traxxas for a new servo, than you can put whatever you want into the UDR and you have a backup 2075x if it ever goes out.

    hope this helps bud!

Can you recommend a servo upgrade that doesn’t require a bec/glitch buster? TIA!!

The servos are defective. I bought 2 Slashes, one in Feb and one 2 weeks ago, and both steering servos failed within the first hour. Support response when I asked when a new servo could be sent “We are out of the servo”, that’s it, no date, no options, no support whatsoever. I’m sending the new truck back. I can get a whole new truck in 3 days and support can’t even get me a date for the servo replacement. Horrible customer service!

I’ve been running the savox 0251 so far for about 6 packs and it works great. The telemetry is turned down slightly past 0 because when the voltage would get low the steering would shutter. It seems the lower cover comes it slight contact with the servo but all screws went back in with no issues. If I remember correctly it was 36.00 on Amazon . Servo arm went right on .

Lost my steering servo also in just under an hour out of box on first set of batts. Replaced it with a Savox SC-1256TG, twice the torque as stock and direct bolt in. Traxxas sent me a replacement within few days. Iím just keeping it as a back up to the Savox.

Do all your Savox servos belongs well with the integrated BEC of the ESC guys ?

Waiting my second one (1256TG), because the tabs on the 1283SG were too thick, my bad !

My 2075x failed after 2 runs.

    1270 looks like a beast ! ($$$)

Just installed the Protek. Fits perfect. Waiting to drive it, but on the bench it seems very fast.

Yup, its a direct fit, and fast.

I ended up using an extended arm and dremeled/carved out a bigger slope so the arm can fit without hitting the body.

i like having longer steering throw....

I just got a MKS HBL380 servo for my steering servo. I'll report back how well it performs once I get it installed. High $$ servo but it should work awesome.

I'd say just about EVERYONE has had this happen. I'm running the SC-1256TG. Plug-n-play, no mods needed. Thought I was having glitching problems, but now I think that was just me being a newb. Steering seems odd when TSM is on and the truck is upside down on the bench, but toss it on its wheels and I think its fine. Added GlitchBuster just for fun.

    Tons of fun!
