    Off road 4 tec!

Has anyone converted their Nitro 4 tec for off roading? If so how? I want to be able to do some light off roading with mine.

Search nitro teluride. I made one after reading the post on it. He has a you tube video also. It was fun but not as much as I had hoped so I bought a summit. I've been thinking of making it a street car again.

You could put rally tires on it and go to a baseball diamond.

How rough is the terrain you want to drive on?

Moderately rough, loose, sandy dirt / gravel. Not really any big jumps or anything. And ground clearance isn't that big of an issue

How did you mount the Telluride suspension on the 4 tec? And what do you do to keep dirt from getting in the belts?

I had to trim the blue plate and add a spacer(nut). You can see them in the pictures. At first I used heavily modified rustler front A arms all the way around but found the truck to be too tippy so I put on stampede 4x4 A arms on. They're a little wider than the teluride. I used a piece of rubber to cover up the belt holes. You're going to want to change the gear ratio to the best acceleration ones and find the shortest tire you can. The stock slash tires seemed to be a little to tall.

That's cool! Do you think 1/16 summit tires would be to tall?

The 1/16 wheel are too small and will hit the knuckle on the inside. The guy that made the teluride looking one ran rally tires which are shorter

I believe those tires are the ones. When you said 1/16 summit I was thinking slash, I'm not sure about the summit ones but if the wheel will fit a 4x4 version of slash/stampede/telluride they should be fine.

If you could find a longer belt that drive the front you could.

What did you do for an upper control arm in the front?

I need to extend the front shock tower. How do i do that? And is there a better way to raise the rear than moving it up a hole?

You have any pics of how it's coming along? The stampede tires will be too tall I think.

Front was stampede 4x4 /back a block that raised the stock one 1 1/2inches.

I can take better pictures of it tomorrow. But it just raises the rear tower up.
