Diff Help Please
Hi guys!
I picked up a used fully modified Teton, and it sure is a fun little truck. The only problem is that I’m having trouble with what I’m assuming are the diffs. If I pull wide open throttle I hear a “grinding” noise and the truck doesn’t move much. If I pull throttle nice and slow the truck works as expected. I disassembled it and the teeth and connections all seem ok, from what I can tell. I apologize in advance, as I’m not super savvy so please go easy on me.
Any help, videos or directions are much appreciated!

Shim the diffs 8mm shims.

How do you know it's not the pinion and spur gear? Those are the ones where the motor transmits power to the driveshaft

RC Racer
A video of what is happening would help. Does the driveshaft have grub screws holding onto the pinion gears for the diff? I was running my TLR Mini 8ight today and that happened a couple of times. Does it become 2wd?

I had the same problem, found out I bought the plastic dif model. The rear dif will wear out first. Pull out the dog bone and inspect them first, then try and put the dog bone (driveshaft) in the dif and try and turn it with your fingers if it skips disassemble dif, pull off the plastic collars an look at the u shape slots for wear.

Yeah. Take out the driveshafts, and inspect the spur gear/ pinion gear mesh.
