    Teflon Liner Replacement

I tried going back to using Teflon for a stuffing tube, but brass works so much better. With this little set up my boat is noticeably faster, my strut and tubes stay perfectly cool, no grease spooge on by boat, and my lube lasts longer. You can't beat it. I did update my set up though, by making my motor side of my tube a better fit.

You can't do this with a Traxxas tube, because a Traxxas tube is slightly less than 1/4 inches. So, what I did was to use a true 1/4 brass tube to make a new guide tube, and on the motor side of my guide tube I soldered a 7/32 inch and then a 3/16 inch brass tube 1/4 inch deep in the motor side of my newly made 1/4 brass guide tube.

Then when I slide my 3/16 inch stuffing tube/strut assembly into my 14 inch guide tube, everything fits nicely with my flex shaft/prop assembly.

Here's the way I use to do it.

Here's how I do it now.

Here's the full three piece setup.

And, here's a close up of the strut/brass stuffing tube assembly.

Anyway, this works so good with my Spartan I had to go back to it.

This thing really works great! I wonder why RC boat makers use the Teflon tubing. I know for a fact that racers all change over to brass, but I wonder what the big draw is for Teflon coming out of the factory.

This may sound silly of me, but I don't know what a OG is.
