    Spartan Upgrades (specifically motor/esc)

I just got my Spartan and have been using it for the weekend. I'm a fiend for upgrades, so I've already sprung for the following...

-Full cooling system upgrade (dual pickup rudder, dual outlets, aluminum cooling jacket)
-New Fins (Hot Racing adjustable trim tabs and turn fins)
-Rear Splash guard (because it wasn't expensive and should look cool)
    - X442 Aluminum prop (because the S215s are impossible to find)

Are there any more upgrades, specifically anything mechanical, that it would make sense to add? My main playground is Lake Michigan which the stock spartan handles quite well with good weather. I went with the fins to try and help gain some stability because I have had a flip or two. Any suggestions for anything else I could do would be much appreciated.

There all kinds of cheap mods that you can do to get better performance out your Spartan, but what you have mentioned above is a very good start.

I just happened to see this:

1). the Hog cooling mod which consists of a HR dual port rudder and OSE aluminum jacket.
2). the ESC cooling mod which consists of making a ESC water cooled heat sink and adding a Castle CC Cap pack.
3). the anti grease spooge mod which consists of extending the stuffing tube.
4). the flex cable collect mod which consists of trimming the OEM collects threads.
5). the anti turtling mod which consists of installing two hatch posts for better hatch securing.
6). the water seal mod which consists of adding a rear OSE splash guard and sealing the rear hatch area.

Could you give me some more information or point me in that direction on that anti turtling mod? I had that happen a couple times and would love to have a solution.

Yes, but just to let you know you can also tape your hatch. I like this mod, because with it battery changes are a lot easier/faster than taping.

The posts are nylon bolts, and they are secured by small wood screws (photo 4). The assembly itself is secured to the boat by double sided tape and a small allen head screw and nut (photo 2).

We need someone or some company to make these products. I'm too lazy and inexperienced to attempt it myself

Working on, experimenting, and learning isn't work, if you do it with the right frame of mind. It's playing, just as much as operating your toys is.

Thanks, it's not an easy mod to do, because everything has to be right on the money. But, it sure does work good.
