Adjustable bodyposts! More adjustable than i thought :)

So i ordered this Tamiya Golf 24 (MK6 GTI) body for my 4-tec 2.0 and the rear bodyposts didn't fit.

I needed to raise them but then they would go 'through' the rear window of this hatchback body... Not very nice.

I removed the bodypost mount and discovered it can be mount multiple ways! Don't know if anybody else discovered this, but its just a tip for the people that didnt know this!

I'm posting this because ive seen some diy makeshift bodyposts for higher bodies, then i discovered you dont need to!

The best part, no modding or cutting required! just remove the screws --> mount differently and tighten screws again!

    Here some pictures:

    Original mounting

    Original mounting with bodyposts removed

Mounted upside down for more height!

Mounted upside down AND reversed so the bodypost move closer to the front of the car for mounting higher hatchback bodies

The bodypost now perfectly line up with the original 'holes' on the Tamiya body!

Are you done? Like to see the outcome :-)

How does the front body posts line up with the Tamiya Golf?

    Thanks.

Ah man, i'm superbusy with work lately and hadn't had the time to post a build topic!

The car is finished and drives amazing! The increased rideheight is good voor light offroad and bashing onroad (jumps and stuff like that).

No problem, Sven. Great to learn the project turned out well. Any idea on the front Traxxas body posts vs. the marked dimple marks on the Tamiya Golf, do they line up? Thanks.

@ Great@Dane, i started my rally topic today

The front body posts are more forward compared to the orginele Tamiya dimple marks. I tried multiple Tamiya body's and they al fit the 4-tec perfectly.

    Thanks again, Sven.

Great info as I am thinking of a body to fit my TA06. Although I am a Tamiya guy, Traxxas has done a great job not only with the 2 Fords, GT and Mustang, but also the Cadillac and Corvette. Great looking bodies.
