Is there a new rustler coming to the scene? Possibly 4x4 vxl? Its pictured as the New vxl rustler on the traxxas website.
I've seen it all over the traxxas Fb groups. i hope its true. Quickly the pics disappeared..

It was on there this morning. I think that it was on purpose just to get everyone amped up. They'll probably announce it before too long.
I don't mind. Thats exactly what I want. All the pieces already put together. Sure, you could easily build it. Thats whats fun about traxxas but in doing so pay 2/3rds of the cost more. I'd rather just buy it and have a reliable 1/10 truggy. Yes, I said reliable. Ive been running traxxas since the white days and race a slash platinum every saturday night. Love it!

I think they should have come up with a new name. Even for the 4X4 stampede. It can be confusing for the average user looking for parts. JMHO
Revo .18TM BL Rustler Stampede MERV HPI Sprint 2
The Ruslter 4x4 is very, very real. Traxxas is letting dealers sign up to get first deliverly trucks by mid September, and from what I can get at it looks like they should be on shelves in October.
EDIT: There's a brushed version and a VXL version both expected early Oct ETA.

!!!!!! Thats awesome! I love how much Traxxas has been doing in the past 2 years. Like releasing new cars left, right, and center, new body paint jobs, etc. Its been awesome.
If you ain't getting dirty, you ain't having fun.
I'm in! I want one!!

I wouldn't get your hopes up until I saw the actual product. Lot wrong with that pic, namely the price and no mention of 4x4 in the name. The difference between the Stampede and Slash 2wd vxl and 4wd vxl is at least $50 minimum. They aren't going to release a 4wd version for the same price listed as the 2wd. I think it's just an updated 2wd with a new body and tires. The way the pic is angled you can't see the rear motor mount. or maybe its a new mid mount system or something. but I doubt it's 4x4 from one pic and again, the listed price.
I may be wrong but I would wait til they actually post the official product before getting hype.
Regardless of the model though, I hope they sell that new E-revo style body with the reinforced plastic on top in clear separately and it uses the same mounting! I wants one.

I think the give a way is the reinforced lid. Looks like it'll have self righting capability, which is difficult with a 2 wheel drive power train.
And it says 4x4 on the body under Rustler next to VXL

I’m in for this! I’ll sell my stampede 2wd and swap over my CC system. Sweetness!
It’s on the Traxxas homepage now.
...And the email announcements are coming through.

Funny we were talking about it and now they put it on the website. I have stampede for sell lol!
Yep, guess it's official now. uses the new clipless body system so no body for my 2wd. boooo lol
We dont know if they'll fit the standard 2wd yet but if they do I'll be looking into that long as they sell the body clear though. I want to paint it myself.
Also interested in those tires on it. No part# on the site yet.
Looking at it the chassis looks awful close to a lcg slash chassis! Still, I'll end up with one.... or build one ha!

Looks cool. I really like the wing... Clipless body... meh... The webpage says "all new chassis", looks like an updated 4wd Pede chassis. Self-righting... guessing they figure the driveshafts won't break like they do in the X-Maxx?
The video was great, looks like it was a VXL on 3S, this will give the TSM module a workout.

Lcg from 2wd slash mixed with 4wd pede chassis otherwise like a slammed 4wd pede but just like the 2wd pede and rustler the 4wd rustler has a longer wheelbase.
Those tires miniature versions of the Talon Xs that come on the Erevo?
still plastic drive shafts or metal ?, hard to tell
They're not the normal 4x4 Slash/Stampede # 6852X/6851X shafts, they're new. They look to be much thicker and beefy too.

Those shafts look a little short, like bandit length almost. Still though, plastic... imagine they'll be a little weak once you put in a 3s. Is the truck based on the Stampede 4x4 chassis? I kinda wanna sell my Bandit and build this.

Ah, looks like the Rustler 4x4 uses a "new chassis" but it is actually almost identical to the Rally chassis. Just rearranged a couple of things, like receiver box is the standard 2wd box. Changed the battery compartment, for what looks to me like the worse if anything. Might be just slightly smaller than the Rally battery compartment, don't think it will be that big of a deal though.

Watched the video again I think it's better then the new revo.traxxas this truck is definitely going to be a winner
Would like to see a size comparison to the E-Revo 2.0 and the R4stler, Because I'm interested in the revo 2.0 but if this is going to be "better" than I'd get this
Also would like to know when the XL-5 version is going to come out. I've already got all the electronics so i would just swap them and save a little bit of $. What would be best is a Platinum Edition like they did with the slash 4x4.Wolfslash16 Trust me, it's an actual 4x4 chassis. The brushed one coming out later this year is going to be around $299 and the VXL one coming in a month or so will be around $370-$400.

6s X-Maxx-Hobbywing MAX6 8s conversion
So is this still based on the Stampede 4x4 / Slash 4x4 platform overall in terms of parts commonality? I mean obviously some parts are different, just like Stampede vs Slash but being able to use parts out of my existing spare parts bag means a lot.
The size difference in wheel base it's between the slash and stamped
Stampede 4x4 10.83 in
Slash 4x4 12.75 in
Rustler 4x4 11.62 in
