    Conundrum

So I find myself in a situation. I purchased the trx4 sport for my boy so he could go crawling with me. I have the scx10 ii blazer. Here's the situation, in the blazer I have a castle mamba x and 2850kv crawler system. Trx is running stock esc and motor. I just purchased a Holmes hobbies revolver 1800kv out runner system. Do I put it in the sport, or do I put it in the 10ii and the castle system in the sport? Your opinions are welcome!

If your boy is new to driving RC truck put the slowest one in his. It will be easier for him to learn. Throttle control seems much harder to master than steering from my experience. My 7yr likes Trailing with me now that I slowed his truck way up with a different motor. Thatís my two cents anyway.

Naw, the boy has been bashing with me since he was 4. He's actually very good, though the transition to crawling was harder for him. He can still crawl though, just more of a "when in doubt, throttle out". Plus the sound of the revolver motor might be cool for him. I dunno, still undecided.

The gearing on the sport is fast for a crawler, I’d say toss it in the sport.

Well, I got the Holmes hobbies revolver and sidewinder 4 in the sport. It makes both the kid and myself smile. I didn't change gearing, left the 17 tooth (gasp) pinion on and it crawls amazing. Low speed control can match (or beat) any sensored setup and the sound, its like being in a star wars movie, ha. Ran on 3s, plenty of wheel speed. Now to program the esc a tad, add some drag break and mess with the throttle curve, then take her out for a proper testing!

good news. We have 2 TRX-4 defenders with the stock motors. I find they work well and are just the right speed with 3s of course
