    slayer trans questions

Hello all, I recently traded for my slayer. It pulls great in 1st gear but seems to be slipping in 2nd gear revs really high and losses speed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure the slipper clutch has all three pads and is tight enough.

Everything looks good. Is there anything on the inside that could cause this?

check the tension of the shifting gears, there should be a small set screw that changes how fast you have to be going to shift. I believe that if you turn left = slower speed to engage, and right = faster.

Depending on it's life, the OWB in the transmission could be slipping. They don't last forever, but they do last a long time, at least a basher truck. Maybe racing puts more strain on them due to all the high/low revs for corners and whatnot, although, I doubt many slayers get "raced".

Thanks for info. I don't know the history of the truck, I trade a rustler that I beef up for the Slayer and a OFNA Titan.

Finding parts for that OFNA titan could be like trying to find a unicorn. Was a cool "truggy" though.
