    My battle with wheel slop

So recently during a speed run I approached 75 and my truck went into a violent wobble. After inspection I noticed quite a bit of slop in the wheels. So I order aluminum c hubs, carriers and bearings. After installation I still had the slop, money not well spent. The battle begins, I dig threw my parts bin and find some teflon washers (shims). I shimmed everything I could and drastically reduced the slop.

yea the slop is horrible on these. i have to shim mine as well. dont shim it too tight, you want everything to still move freely.

What is the big benefit of switching? And is it worth it?

More wheel/tire options. 1/8th wheel/tires, for buggies, MTís and such.

I’ve always liked the look of 1/8 scale buggy tires on my trucks. On this truck I blew my tires on a speed run and needed new tires for the street. Since I already had grp tires I got the 17mm hubs.

I got to run today, got up to 86.4. Much better, still a little squirrelly at 86. Next I will adjust camber and toe links. I will add some weight in the nose as well. It’s crazy this thing still wants to wheelie geared 25/32, it actually did a wheel stand flipped over backwards and landed on its wheels. I really wish I had video

Just make sure on the exploded diagrams the bellcrank is shared with the slash and stampede. If they are get Traxxas, STRC, or HR aluminum
