Nitro Vee rebuild for Fun

Thinking of converting one of my Nitro Vees. I was curious if the velineon 380 would work ok on 2s. Would like to use the 1/16 scale batteries(2 in parallel). Not looking for speed performance, just something reliable to fool around with. Grandkids bought father in-law a Blast and thought I would convert one so they could run the boats with him. If not I would use the 3500 but worry about the batteries, trying to keep it as light as possible.

That motor is way too small for the size of the boat and the amount of drag. Best to go with something bigger.

Does anyone know what the TRX pro .15 turned for rpm in the Vee? I'm thinking between 25,000 to 30,000 tops. Trying to find a brushless motor with similar performance running 2s. Would the velineon 3500 be too much power?

Searching the web, not much info out there. Others have done it but not much talk on how it's holding up.
