    3D printed Roll cage topper

    Hey Folks!

I'm new to the forum and I wanted to post a pic of a rollcage/topper that I recently designed and printed on my 3D printer. If anyone has any interest in the files, I'll post them on Thingiverse.

    FDM? Looks good!

Im looking to design a full cage for my Slash and print it on my HP Multi-jet.

I was also going to print a set of wheels for my old buggy. something crazy with inter twining spokes and such.

Here ya go. Also messing around with a light bar - not for scale or looks but pure light output.

Nice. How is it connected to the body? How do you take off the body?

There's a simple bracket that snaps to the roll bars and one bolt goes through the topper to the bracket and anchors solidly into the top. To remove the top, you can easily reach from the back to operate the latch.

That thing looks awesome! I would love to print one of them myself. How long did it take and what did you make it out of?

I used eSun PLA+. I printed the main part in about 14 hours. The diamond tread panel printed in about 30 minutes and then I mixed in a roof rack with rails that I found on Thingiverse. Once all the pieces were done I painted the diamond plate and "welded it to the topper with a 3d printing pen. It weighs 10 ozs. I'll try to get the files up on Thingiverse today.

Absolutely check out the Crealty CR-10. Large print volume and easy to assemble. Check Banggood.com or gearbeast.com for good pricing.

Funny you bring that up. I was thinking about a trailer as well.

I've used this stuff for drones and it's incredibly strong and rigid. Lots of cool bits and pieces.

hahha, Iv seen videos of nice 10th scale ones which is probably why im chasing one now for 5th scale but seems much much more uncommon in 5th scalei was thinking to get one of those warehouse flat bed trolleys then essentially removing front two wheels and whelding on "y" frame and coupling .....
