Hey guys so im building a udr from parts.
got a lot of building to do. this is basically a kit... without it being a kit.
found my manual which tells me which screws to use where.
so now im building.
first thing I did was put some of the roll cage together.
next I put the upgraded spur gear on.
heres pictures with the pinions.

Trans installed, servo installed (will need to be removed to set the steering to zero.), some of the front up put together.
now to rebuild the front shocks, and put limiters on the inside. this will prevent the truck from hitting full droop. saves axles/diff cup from wearing as fast.
will take pictures of that process as well.

used two slash shock shoulders and a traxxas 10th scale blue rubber grommets.
only going to use 1 in the rear shocks and dampner, as well as flip my limiting strap.
finish putting the front end together after work today.

Put the limiters in the rear shocks.
got carried and away and assembled the rest of the truck....
looks a little low in the front....
driveshafts came in... so its a complete truck now

I have to do this to mine, i have enough parts! Luckily I did all the SS screws when I first bought it so I have had it apart 100% before. Great work on the rebuild

Today I am working on finishing repairing my Fox Body.
Sitching in sheets of lexan over broken/missing parts of the body.
also added a windshield...
added my rear spoiler back on.
will run it on sunday, put a battery in it and tested, steering and drivetrain, very quiet when gas is applied when the truck is in the air.

fixing the front and rear of the body.
quick paint session and a few stickers on the windshield.
shes basically just been refreshed a little bit.

After driving her this weekend, I have some pros and cons for the limiting on the front.
I have a small dig area on the front of the truck on rough or jagged edges the front a-arms can sometimes catch, and I do a front flip.
plus side is hardly traction roll at all, feels very planted and drifts beautifully.

How’s the vxl 8s treating you? Very curious on that!
VXL-8s is basically the same as the 6s. I dont notice much diffrence, I am running the truck on mostly just 4s.
Dosent seem to be hurting my batteries or the truck.
I ran this VXL-8s in my thread a few weeks ago where I raced that dirtbike. lol
I did have to recalibrate it, not sure why, but it reduced my throttle travel. after calibrating it, it worked great.
the extra plug on the esc is in the cabin area of the UDR. I could technically put a 2nd 4s battery in the chassis area.
no plans to run her on 8s tho.

Darn I was hoping for you to run 8s. I mean I don’t blame you for not doing so, the trucks seem to be having issues even on 6s.
