HPI Flux tork 2200kv vs castle 2650kv motor

Hey guys. Just wondering what would be a better motor for running on primarily 3s but maybe some 4s in my rusty... flux tork 2200kv vs castle 2650kv motor...

Both are 8th scale sized motors and will ruin your truck if you plan to bash due to being so much heavier than a 10th scale setup. The 2650 will be better. Realize you can’t buy a $40 china motor if you want good performance.

If you really want an 8th scale setup the Sidewinder 8th combo is the way to go, it’s the most powerful thing you can throw in before going to a mamba monster 2 or mamba monster x. That’s the biggest mistake I made though, because that 1515 and sw8 made it so heavy it broke all the time. I shoulda used a mamba x or an MMP with a 1415 but I just sold the truck.

I’d buy a mamba x and the 1415 2400kv. It runs up to 5s and is a lot lighter than those motors you have there.

Castle’s 8th scale motors (especially the 1515’s, the 1512 you listed wont be bad though) are complete dogs until ran on 4s, then they wake up. That’s why I don’t recommend them. That and weight. Also make sure to upgrade your diffs and drivetrain in general if going to those 8th scale motors you listed because their torque will rip the stock stuff apart.

Why is the 2400 kv motor lighter? Thanks.

    Bashing motor upgrade...

Hey guys. I was wanting more power from my rustler 4x4 vxl. I am already running on 3s and a 13t pinion. What are some good upgrade motors? Thanks.

As mentioned in one of your other thread, Castle's 2650kV or 2400kV paired with SW8, MM2, or my favorite, MMX would be great in your Rusty. Just remember to watch your temps and gear up accordingly.

I recommend you actually attempt to do research on your topics before posting a thread on them.
Castle measures their motors in an xxxx fashion.
    14xx is a 10th scale motor. (36mm wide)
15xx is an 8th scale motor. (40mm wide)

The second number is the length. A 1410 is your standard 10th scale motor, I believe you own one. They’re meant for 10th scale 2wd short course trucks.

A 1415 is the same width as your standard 10th scale motor, but it’s 74mm long (as long as an 8th scale motor). It’s the ideal motor for a 10th scale truck because it has more than enough power to propel a 4x4 10th scale SCT/ST on 5s WITHOUT weighing as much as an 8th scale motor. (Usually 1800kv or 2400kv from castle)

A 1512 is 40mm wide but very stubby, about as long as a slightly extended 10th scale motor, pretty heavy. (Usually 2650kv from castle)

A 1515 is a standard 8th scale sized motor. 40mm wide and 74mm long. Completely unnecessary for a 10th scale truck. They normally come (from castle) in 2200kv.
