    Storage charging question

I balance charged both my 3s iD batteries to full charge and havenít used them for a few weeks, is it possible to storage charge them with the ez peak iD without using them first?

Have they puffed? You can try to storage charge but watch them carefully and take note that it will take a lot longer than running them in a truck.

Yes just set them to storage charge and it will discharge them to storage voltage. It will take much longer than charging them up, bringing them down from full voltage will take hours.

The batteries are brand new, only used one time about half discharged, then fully charged about two weeks ago. I hope this hasn’t damaged them. They are not puffed at the moment. Do you recommend always using a storage charge after use unless you plan to use the batteries right away, then charge fully just before using them?

Never store at a full charge unless you plan on running again say in a few hours or the next day. Otherwise storage charge.

So if they puffed up because I left them fully charged for too long then I will have to replace them? Will traxxas cover them under warranty?

I'd say yes replace and stop using any lipo battery that puffs up.
Traxxas replacement not sure that would be considered user error which most won't cover for warranty.

Glad this thread is here. I picked up a Rustler 4x4 VXL and my first Lipo (2s) today along g with a Traxxas EZ charger. I balance charged the battery to set up the ESC but didn't run the truck. It is currently on the charger undergoing a storage charge and I was wondering if something was wrong with it taking so long.

Thanks to those who answered up here. I'm brand new to LiPo and a bit nervous about it. Was just going to stick with NiMh with this truck but 30mph top speed seems pretty lackluster to me for this truck.

Another question I have is after I use the batteries to the point of lvc, how long is too long to wait before I put them on storage charge?

Let them cool for about 5 minutes then storage.

I’ll ask another way, if I can’t charge them right away, how long can they be left discharged before risk of damaging them, an hour, a day, a week?

Just do it as soon as possible, as long as it’s within a few days it should be fine. The manual says you’ve got up to 7 days. The sooner the better though.
