XO-1 GUY GETTING OLDER BY THE MINUTE
I would not do that if you are using it for speed runs unless you are going to put something else on there to add some down force or assist with keeping it straight

Spoilers only work if they're properly installed, and at speeds of at least 62mph (1:1 scale) or more. They are used to spoil aerodynamic lift (that's where they get their name from), and aerodynamic drag. Using a properly angled spoiler will help you keep your RC car on the road, and will also help you go faster.
The XO-1 is a 1/7 scale car. Coming out the box it's setup for 50mph. If you do the math, the (out of the box) XO-1 is capable of doing 350 scale miles per hour. Logically then (IMO), being that 350mph is 288mph over 62mph, it would be a good idea to keep using your Traxxas designed spoiler with your Traxxas made XO-1.
