Cool Force .30 slayer ......gears question

I want to put steel gears in my slayer I have a force .30 in it am pretty sure the trans won't handle this power for long.I'm running 17mm hex's 10mm extended, Badlands on buggy wheels. putting 70 or 90 wt shock oil minds not made up yet.looking to use a JP 3 buggy pipe kinda hard to find.Anyway......Are the gears all the same in the Revo TMaxx and Slayer? I'm wanting to put Robinson Racing gears in it....

Between the Revo and Slayer the top gears are the same, the final drive gear is different. Around the time of the 4908 T-Maxx is when it went to Revo-spec parts.

I used the RRP top gear and two speed gears, but pretty sure my BB revo with an LRP28 has the slayer output gears in it. My other revo has all RRP steel in it with an OS21TM. I bought my BB revo used as a slayer a long time ago and it's been forever since I had the transmission out of that thing. I ran it as a slayer for a while, but with a truck body, then converted it to a 3.3 chassis revo. I don't know why I didn't just buy the full RRP kit... or I did and I'm forgetting, but 99% sure it's running the slayer output gears which are a different gear ratio.

I'm not sure what the revo or slayer spur you have is, but your going to need to gear it taller with those tires and the revo trans gears. If I'm not mistaken, they run similar spur/cb combinations on both, the gearing difference is the primary output gears in the transmission.

The primary output gears on the revo are 28/28. The slayer is 33/23. So a gear ratio .4 higher. I suck with this kind of math though... maybe 20 years ago when school was closer to my memory... If I'm not wrong (which I really might be), if you currently had 14/38, you would have to go to a 16T bell.
    38/14=2.7:1

    38T/16T
    38/16=2.38:1
    2.7-2.38=.32 higher

    40T/17T
    40/17=2.35:1
    2.7-2.35=.35 higher

    36T/16T
    36/16=2.25:1
    2.7-2.25=.45 higher

    38T/17T
    38/17=2.24:1
    2.7-2.24=.46 higher

I think the slayer comes with a 36T spur, so that with your 15T
    36/15=2.4
    2.7-2.4=.3 higher

That .1 difference may be quite a bit of top speed.

Going to stop now because I'm probably wrong anyway...

Ok that looks like what I was thinking...I believe it's a 36 spur. But realy bottom line . should be if I run standard revo gears in the cases then the revo stock spur would be a good start if it's too tall?........?OOOPS....It's a 38 spur in it now
