    Newbie question.

I am going to purchase a Traxxas for my 11 year old son and i was looking at the E Revo VXL. I found a few websites that say discontinued. Also not available on the Traxxas website. I kind of liked the price around the 250 mark. What else should I consider purchasing if that one is not available or no longer made??? We have a pasture and a huge hilly lawn to run around on. Snow mud rain dirt grass jumps etc. I kind a like the looks of the E revo vxl for its low center of gravity.

The e revos has been replaced with the 2.0 as we call it.
    Here is link

Mini eRevo aka Merv. 1/16 scale fun cars but doesn't do well on grass longer than 1.5in or very bumpy terrain like large gravel or items 1in or larger.

    Vxl rustler. Perhaps a option

Rustle is always a good beginning car... This new model gives it 4x4 and a brushless motor, and a few features the e revos 2.0 has. Not sure how it will work on grass. The old 2x4 brushed one didn't do well at all on grass.

Vlx to the models designation means it has a brushless motor. Aka more power with less battery consumption. Meaning longer run time.. But more expensive, since has the more expensive brushless motor.

To get the power/ speed will need lipo batteries a tad expensive than NIMH batteries with some other factors to be concerned about. Aka fires.

If grass, Dirt feild is your terrain to run on. Something with 4x4 and large tires will work best. Go to a local hobby store and check them out.

Most cars you can put them into training mode at 50% power. Makes them easier to control for beginners.
